Creative multimedia journalist, anchor, and producer with a passion for people’s stories.
My name is Evelyn Schultz, and I work at KTVH, the NBC affiliate in Helena, Montana. I’ve crossed the Treasure State telling the stories of Montanans since 2016, with stops in Great Falls, Billings, and the capital city.
Right now, I produce and anchor our 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts, while shooting, writing, and editing my own stories weekly. I’m a proud #MMJane!
Born and raised in Indiana, I’m a Butler grad and a Hoosier at heart. Traveling, meeting new people, and discovering new things fuel me.
I've always loved reading, writing, and learning (see photo below.) As a kid, I started a newspaper for the family out of my grandma’s laundry room, called — you guessed it — The Laundry News. In high school, I joined the live morning announcements show, The Olympian Flame. During a field trip to a TV station in Indianapolis, I realized people actually got paid to read, write, and learn! Fast forward 10 years, and that dream job is my reality.
My favorite stories are about unique people (and animals) and ones that make a difference, even if it’s just to one person. I value digital storytelling and connecting with viewers on air and through social media.
A few other things I love: thrift shopping, eating, occasionally exercising, and singing off-key.
